Rafael Nadal wins Roland Garros for an unprecedented 11th Time
Rafael Nadal aka "King of Clay", "God of Clay" has added another dimension to his brilliance and now has 11 Roland Garros titles to his name. Playing against a gritty opponent, Rafael Nadal lost only 9 games in the final.
Rafael Nadal beat Austrian seventh seed Dominic Thiem 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 to claim a record-extending 11th French Open title on Sunday.
The Spanish world number one took his Roland Garros win-loss record to a jaw-dropping 86-2 as he captured his 17th Grand Slam title.
Nadal's triumph marks the sixth consecutive Grand Slam won by either him or 20-time major champion Roger Federer.
The muscular Spaniard had won all 10 of his previous Roland Garros finals and although Thiem was the only man to have beaten him on clay over the past two seasons, the Austrian never threatened the claycourt master on Sunday.

The Spaniard, who first won in Paris in 2005, triumphed 6-4 6-3 6-2 on a warm, damp evening at Court Philippe-Chatrier.
It's his second in a row Roland-Garros title and broadens his triumphant streak on Parisian dirt to 16; his last misfortune at the competition came in the 2015 quarter-finals to Novak Djokovic.
Numerous normal this match to be an engrossing, uniformly coordinated undertaking.
However, Nadal started the match dialed in, scoring an early break against a conditional Thiem to open a 2-0 lead. The Austrian settled, and, much to the pleasure of the limit swarm, crushed spirit and in the end leveled scores at 2-2.
The rest of the main set was an aggressive, physical slug-fest until then tenth diversion when, trailing 4-5, Thiem splashed blunders and surrendered serve at affection.
With the main set in his pocket, Nadal played considerably more intentionally and steadily, peppering Thiem's one-given strike and breaking serve on the way to a 3-0 lead.
Thiem was not able to paw it back, and in under two hours, the Austrian trailed two sets to love.
With the sun developing, Nadal kept on flourishing, while Thiem promptly went down 0-40 in his first administration round of the third and looked progressively demoralized.
While he battled gamely and got away for a hold at 1-0, Nadal instantly broke in the third diversion.
At that point, in the fourth diversion, driving 30-0, Nadal served a blame and walked straight to his court-side seat, requiring the coach. In the wake of flexing the center finger on his left hand and having his left wrist taping expelled, he continued to twofold blame, yet held serve for a 3-1 lead.

Evidently unencumbered, Nadal continued to finish triumph in two hours and 42 minutes.
